Shivani Desai, a civil engineer, earned her master’s degree from the University of Florida and currently works in the construction industry. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and exercising. Shivani is also trained in various forms of Indian dance including Bhangra and Bollywood

ANIKA DHAM

Anika Dham is a junior at American Heritage School. She loves to dance in her free time and is trained in bharatnatyam. She is part of the debate tea, and likes science research. In the future, she hopes to pursue her interest in law.

DEVIKA JHAVERI

Devika Jhaveri is a senior at Spanish River High School. An avid member of her DECA chapter, Devika is Executive Vice President of her school’s chapter. She has trained in various Indian classical dances, including bharatnatyam. She is also the editor-in-chief for Spanish River’s newspaper, The Galleon. She is also President of her school’s National English Honor Society and started her own charity club at Spanish River, dedicated to raising money for underprivileged kids in India. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her German shepherds, writing, and designing.

ANJALI KAMATH

Anjali Kamath is a senior at Pompano Beach High School Institute of International Studies. Anjali is an officer of her school’s medical club HOSA and part of her school’s debate team. She is an advocate for environmental protection and is currently working on bringing biodegradable water bottles to her school. Her talents and passions include both singing and dancing.

Isha Patel is a freshman at West Boca High school. Her hobbies include dancing, painting and swimming. She is a part of National Honor Junior Honor Society and participates in the West Boca Medical Academy. She loves to spend time with her friends and family.

Prachi Patel is an undergraduate student at the University of Miami. She is a rising senior double majoring in biology and psychology with a minor in chemistry. She plans to become a pediatrician working with special needs children. In her free time, she loves to dance and hang out with friends.

SANAM PATEL

Sanam Patel is a student at Pompano Beach High school. She is a kathak graduate from the Bangiya Sangeet Parishad University in India and enjoys all forms of dancing. She is a karate instructor at Tri Star Karate, and a first degree black belt. She enjoys traveling and exploring different countries. She loves pencil sketching in her free time.

KINNI SHAH

Kinni Shah is a pharmacist by profession and a student for life. She believes in learning and growing from every experience. Kinni enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as meeting new people and hearing new perspectives. Her motto is carpe diem, so the door to adventure is always open. In her spare time, Kinni likes to read, sing, play the keyboard, ice skate and travel. She enjoys exploring the world of fashion. Kinni believes your style is an extension of yourself.

An Indian fashion designer with her own label, Kavita Bathija has been touted by the fashion industry as an international designer, who blends traditional Indian textile with a twist of modern cuts and techniques as well as western silhouettes and tailoring.

Kavita’s journey began in 2002 when she worked as fashion textiler, and they began freelancing during for sponsors during Lakme Fashion week.

In 2015, she was awarded “Best Stylish Designer” in Abu Dhabi, recognized for participation in “Brides Dubai,” and appreciated as the creative International designer at MSC Fashion Club in India. The Indian Express selected and published her fashion career when covering women empowerment in India. Her work has also been seen in Femina magazine. Kavita has also received an award in New Delhi with Bollywood star and model Mugda Godse and Rahul Dev, and earned recognition by the president of Abu Dhabi’s Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, Moda Dynasty magazine of Dubai published her work; she was also honored by Mr. Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat, India, for best work in the “Gujarat Summit.”

She has worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus as a lead makeup artist for Chanel, Dior, Laura Mercier, and Nars. In 2015, she travelled to Moscow to pursue her education in bridal hair.

Yasmin adorns Indian brides and is flawlessly able to combine the rich Indian culture with a refined western flair. She has trained with leading artists such as Samir Khouzami, King Mali Magic (Nicki Minaj’s makeup artist) and Ana’s makeup artistry (Cardi B’s makeup artist).

Shubhra Singh currently works for Fiserv Inc. Possessing a creative instinct, She is also a freelance makeup artist in her spare time. She loves to travel and explore new places. A participant in the Mrs. India Georgia Pageant, Singh was among the Top 5 Contestants. She choreographed the fashion show for 2019 Atlanta MyShadi Bridal Expo and has walked the ramp at the 2019 New York Fashion Show week. Dance being one of her passions, she was a part of Shiamak Davar’s contemporary dance workshops and shows.

aniMa Das

Anima Das, currently lives in Alpharetta, Georgia, and is originally from Kolkata. Modeling, fashion, and dance as well as being in front of a camera are her pas-sions. She recently appeared on the 2018 Christmas cover of Desi-Express maga-zine. Das has participated in many pres-tigious pageants, including Mrs. India USA and Mrs. India International, where she won the title for her “Long Pretty Hair” in 2016. Das has also been a part of Dharmesh sir’s Bollywood dance workshops. She even choreographed and participated in a group dance in Geeta Kapoor’s Dance Fever Dance show. Das has also walked the ramp for many beautiful designers, including Madhulika Kumar, Almas Hamirani, Anita Evans and Kavita Bathija. Das has participated in many events including the fashion shows for IACA, GoodLife Glob-al, IFA, MyShadi Bridal Expo, Simran’s Designer Studio, and Atlanta International Night Market.

suMana goswaMi

Sumana Goswami, a fashion model and professional interpreter, was born and raised in Assam, India. Goswami arrived in the United States in 2003, and completed her under-graduate degree at Georgia State University. As a professional interpreter, she has interpreted/translated for CNN Atlanta as well as translated the live speech of honor-able Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She first walked the ramp in 2015 modeling Bollywood designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s couture at a prestigious event in Atlanta. Having fallen in love with walking the runway, Goswami feels a sense of satisfaction, confidence and empowerment. Goswami has appeared on the cover of Desh-Videsh magazine and been featured in VoyageAtl as one of 2018’s inspiring stories of Atlanta. Goswami has participated in Indian and American fashion shows including Georgia Peach Fashion week, Goodlyfe International Fashion show, NY Fashion Week, among others. Goswami currently does freelance modeling and has worked with many designers and fashion photographers across the United States. Her mantra is “there is only one you, believe in you, it’s you who can take you to places.”

Tina Mir comes from a multicultural family, where her mother’s side is Indian and her father’s side Persian. She loves her Indian culture so much that she has always stayed involved with it. Mir was crowned second runner up in the Mrs. India Georgia 2016 pageant and earned the title Miss Beautiful Hair. Her biggest passions are acting and modeling. She has participated in fashion runway shows, magazine photo shoots, and music videos. She is blessed that she will soon pursue her acting career in Bollywood by accepting movie offers from Mumbai production companies.

Hetal Mehta, a Homoeopathic doctor, was crowned “2nd Runner-up” in the 2018 Miss International Beautiful Pageant held in Miami. An international model, Mehta has been nominated as Atlanta”s hottest female. She has participated in many fashion events in Nashville and Atlanta. Before her recent move to Atlanta, Mehta was president of India Association of Nashville for two years. Organizing and participating in cultural events is a passion as is being active in social causes like homeless lunches and American Red Cross blood drives. Mehta is also excited to be a part of Vibha’s program to help underprivileged children. Mehta was invited to be Congressman Jim Cooper’s guest when Prime Minister Modi addressed a joint session of the US Congress, for which she considers herself to be a fortunate part of the historic event. Passionate about modeling and dance, Mehta’s enthusiasm and zeal for life are contagious.

Preeti Santosh Naik was born in Karnataka and raised in Mumbai. A working mother, she shares a home with her dear husband and their little princess. Though not a professional model, Naik has always been intrigued by the idea and wanted to explore the profession. She was a participant in Mrs. Bharat Georgia 2018 and won the title of Mrs. Radiant Beauty 2018. She also participated in a 2018 TATA fashion show. Naik loves listening to songs and music as well as spending time with her daughter. Her motto in life is to “Stop wishing, start doing.”

Mallika Reddy is a University Gold Medalist in Computer Science Engineering and an IT lead by profession. She is a philanthropist, interior designer by hobby, and a mother of two young kids. She was a runner up in Mrs. India GA 2017 and has been showcased in Shehnaaz Hussain’s beauty article. She loves playing tennis, running, painting and nature walks. She strongly believes in being a GRACE in a world full of Kardashians.

Sanjana Reddy is a senior at Lambert High School and will be attending Emory University and pursuing healthcare sciences in the Fall. Her passions include modeling, dancing, singing, and acting. She is currently an ambassador and public speaker for C5 Georgia Leadership. She plans on starting her own chain of clinics and homes through Open-Hand Inc. and her non-profit, SANA.

Sanyo, a Business Analyst, hails from the wine capital of India, Nashik, Maharashtra. After pursuing her dreams of fashion and photo shoots at some events in India, she is now located in Atlanta where she continues her fashion journey. Sanyo enjoys adventurous sports, with skydiving being her favorite! Her life mantra is to “face your fears and you will win them over!” She believes persistent effort and self-belief are the keys to achieving her dreams in life.

Sagarika Thesam is a senior at Lambert High School. Last year, Thesam earned the title of second runner up for Miss Teen Bharat USA. She has modeled for many professional fashion shows at various events. She threw a fundraiser to help victims of human trafficking for which she raised quite a bit of money. Thesam has done charity work through dance and other arts since the age of eight. Her hard work in charity was noticed, and she received the Presidential Award.

Bandana Verma is thrilled to be a part of the MyShadi Bridal Expo fashion show. She is a AEM IT software tester for the American Cancer Society (ACS). She has walked the runway in shows with IFA and BTU organized by Shaveta Jain as well as an IACA pageant. She loves the opportunity to model as well as explore interior design.

Bhrushira Vyas was born in Ahmedabad. For Vyas, modeling is passion, and she has a love for walking the runway and being in front of camera. Hamda Awan, a Pakistani American, has been modeling for a few years. Hamda has always tried to find my way around life by balancing both of her cultures. She real-ized that modeling and acting allowed her to connect both worlds while staying true to herself. She loves broadening her ho-rizons and fashion sense by trying new styles and putting together pieces she normally wouldn’t, but the classic looks and details always have a special place in her heart. Being a Muslim American, she is proud to represent her background, religion and culture through the means of her talent. She has recently been reach-ing new heights with modeling and hopes to keep reaching for the stars and allowing all her craziest dreams to come true.

Janaki Bhagat was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Industrial Engineering. Janaki has been a transportation design engineer for the last six years. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at outreach events, dancing, and working out. Though not a professional model, she enjoys walking the runway any chance she can get. Janaki believes that everyone should be their own trendsetter and that your smile is your greatest accessory.

Aujay Jhala, 20, attends North Carolina State University. He is majoring in Biology with a minor in Business Administration. He currently interns at Wake County Trial Court Administrator’s Office and plans on applying to law school this coming year. Sonia Manocha, 21, is an undergraduate student at North Carolina State University. She is a 4th year student with a Major in Human Biology and Minors in Psychology and Nutrition. Sonia is currently a technician intern at Wake Endoscopy. Her hobbies including dancing, playing guitar, and traveling. Along with these hobbies she has always had a passion for modeling and fashion. She believes you can gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Disha Naik is a senior at East Carolina University. She is obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health with a concentration in Pre-Health Professions. Disha is graduating in May 2019 and plans on furthering her studies by obtaining a Masters degree in Public Health as well as a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Her aspirations are to one day be able to write public health laws on mental health education and serve as a Physician Assistant in a rural area. Hamel Patel is an Indian-American model and creative artist. She spends most of her time creating content for her Instagram platform. Her work is featured across many publications like Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan, Hindustan Times, Teen Vouge and many more. She has also been published in magazines such as Maxim India and Must Be Kismet. Hamel has built her influential platform on various creative mediums, which she uses to spread the word on social issues in the community and inspires others to do the same. Her goal is to break social standards and barriers for young women around the world.

Khusbu Patel is a senior at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She is grad-uating in May with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology with a Molecular/Cell concen-tration and a minor in Science. Khusbu plans on getting her CNA and clinical hours before getting her Masters in Sci-ence in Physician Assistant Studies. When she is not in class, Khusbu works on cam-pus with ITCS. In her free time she likes to play with her cat, go shopping, hang out with friends, or read a good book.

Julia Perniciaro, 17, is the youngest of six children. She has been homeschooled for most of her high school career and will be graduating from Liberty Online Academy in May 2019. In her free time, she enjoys singing, thrifting, and spending time with friends and family. She has been modeling since she was fifteen and has assisted her mother in her wedding hair business for just as long.

Neil Ramlal is obtaining a dual degree in Accounting & Business. He plans on obtaining his CPA license and working in an accounting firm when he graduates. Neil would also like to open his own business, one that is located near a major university thus allowing students to obtain jobs while going to school. Rosanna was published as a contributor in the International Lawyer Year in Review 2015 Kickoff for the Africa Committee. Her written contributions focus on facts based upon extensive research of the political environment in Somalia and Burundi with respect to First Amendment freedoms and country conditions. In 2015, Rosanna served as a panelist for TedX FSCJ where she helped facilitate a discussion on Refugees, Immigration, and Muslims in America. Rosanna has participated as a model in the Desh Videsh Orlando MyShadi Bridal Expo since 2009 and regularly features clothing items by LeTrend Boutique. She was featured on the cover of the Desh Videsh magazine Luxury Edition in November 2015. Rosanna’s hobbies include drumming, paddle boarding, and traveling internationally. She also enjoys belly dancing for parties and wedding events.

Gabriela Correa, 23, was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She moved to Orlando at the 19 to attend Full Sail University and graduated at the age of 22 with a bachelors degree in show production. In late 2018 she started her own company doing events and techno parties. She enjoys traveling, at-tending music festivals, working out, and competing in fitness competitions.

Ashleigh Markel, 31, has been living in Orlando since graduating from Rollins College in 2010 with a degree in International Relations and Political Science. Ashley Shah, 27, was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She is also the mother of two wonderful kids, Isabella and Isaiah. Enjoying family time with her kids is what she loves the most. She was the winner of Miss Indo Caribbean 2011 and has been modeling since her teenage days. She graduated in 2012 with her dental assistant degree. Parita Patel – Fashion Show Coordinator, Choreographer and Bollywood Dance Teacher

Parita Patel was born in Gujarat, India and spent her childhood in Hydrabad. As a child she would pretend to dance and perform for her family and friends. She would make costumes out of her moms old Sarees and Duppattas, and entertain everyone with her stories. One of her favorite memories of India is going to Shalimar Restaurant and eating her favorite Pav Bhaji before going to the Theaters to watch every new Bollywood movie. She remembers her parents buying her one lollipop each time they went to the theater. When her favorite actor or actress came on, she would quickly unwrap and enjoy the lollipop. Parita loved Madhuri Dixit, and Sridevi and would always imagine acting alongside them in the movies, dancing to their songs over and over again.

When she was 10 years old, Parita and her family moved to Georgia. The Bollywood movies in the Big theaters turned to buying tapes and watching them on the small TV at home. Later, Parita began working as a Respiratory Therapist at Colombia Heart Hospital in Rome, Georgia. At age 24, she got married and moved to South Florida. Her first Bollywood performance in South Florida was at IRCC Idol in 2009, and won first place with her team. She began dancing at various associations with her friends, and acquired her passion for Choreographing as well.

Now, Parita has began teaching her two daughters dance, and choreographing for the community. She puts her heart into every choreography and sometimes stays up until 2:00 am selecting songs, and dance moves for her performances. She is very happy about how far she has come over the past years, and that she can finally bring her home in India to U.S.A!

I am Nagasree Sathya (Sree) living in Pembroke Pines, FL with family, I graduated in India and here in USA. My passion and interests are in arts, design, clothes and jewelry. I have always thought the best way to feel confident is by feeling confident in what we are wearing, and I believe that, we as woman represent ourselves, our family, and our culture to the outside world. Our presence and what we wear shows who we are. Also believe that every woman looks gorgeous if she has desirable dress, not expensive one.I had a problem where I cannot find blouses that fit me well and I could not find matching jewelry.

To overcome this, I asked my friends and family to send complete dresses including the jewelry to wear on special occasions. I realized that it is not just me who is having this problem but instead everyone having similar issue, so I was helping few friends few years and finally “Miami Ethnic” started on 2017. I am happy to say that whenever someone leaves my boutique, they always leave with a smile which in turn makes me more motivated to put 100% onto this business.

ANJALIE KAUR MAHADEO

Anjalie Kaur Mahadeo is currently pursuing a pharmacy degree. Mahadeo is an advocate for Mental Health Awareness and founder/promoter of the Nirbhau Nirvair Foundation, which focuses poverty ridden children in India and helping them better their lives through education. Her hobbies include dancing and modeling. Friends say her motto is “Dance is my oxygen, without it there’s simply No Anjalie.” She lives by the saying “I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing , and that is that I know nothing.” – Socrates

ANN POONKASEM (ANN P)

Ann Poonkasem, also known as Ann P, is a singer, model, actress, and television host from the Tampa Bay Area. She recently sang in New York for the 9/11 anniversary and modeled on the runway for New York Fashion Week. This former Miss Tampa and current Miss National Patriot Queen of Queens was in the Indian movie, Dasavatharam, along with South Indian actor, Kamal Hassan, and has sang the Indian National Anthem at many events. Ann loves Indian food and enjoys drinking chai masala tea especially while visiting the beautiful Taj Mahal.

ANJALI PARMAR

Anjali Parmar is currently majoring in Health Sciences at USF and aspires to become a Trauma Surgeon someday. Her hobbies include traveling and discovering new things as well as painting and dancing. Parmar has recently become addicted to playing around with music and mixing different tracks together. Her favorite quote is “Promise yourself, no matter how it gets, never give up on your dream.”

ASHLEY POSTELL

Ashley Postell is a University of Florida Alumni (Go Gators!) and currently resides in Tampa, FL. A dog mom to two American Bullys and two cats, Postell I believes you are never too old to pursue you dreams and should strive daily to become a better version you!

SAMEEKSHA RANI ADESH

Sameeksha Rani Adesh is a University of South Florida in Tampa pursuing Medicine. She hopes to become Pediatric Cardiologist. Her hobbies include dancing, singing, and playing various instruments at her family’s music school in Orlando.
